CONCACAF Champions League New England vs Joe Public

New Engand got off to a slow start against Joe Public last night. The Revs looked tentative and
J. P. took advantage. Its hard to say that J. P. got a couple of cheap goals. The team had crisp passing and had good crosses. Sure Matt Reis might have stopped the first goal if he was between the pipes, but woulda, coulda, shoulda, just doesn't get it done.

With the Revs down 2-0 in the second half, a ticky tack foul was called when Sharle Joseph was taken down in the box. You could argue that it was deserving of a PK, but Joseph and the Revs should count themselves lucky that they got the call.

Did you see the game? What do you think of the Rev's performance? Is this the kind of play we will see for the rest of the tourny, or is it just a slow start?

Eddie Three Times

Edson Three Times Buddle is one of ours. He grew up in New Rochelle, and is named after Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele. Buddle played one year of college at State Fair Community College, where he led State Fair to the 1999 NJCAA Division I National Championship. Buddle began his professional career in 2000, when he signed with the Long Island Rough Riders. Buddle helped the team win the Northeast Division, scoring 11 goals and 4 assists, and was a finalist for the A-League Rookie of the Year Award. Maybe he will find his way back to New York and play for NYFC in 2010.

Article on NYC expansion

Another article talking about the possibites of our expansion team.
Big Apple Soccer

Good news and bad news.
First off, it seems Garber can't shut up about getting a team in Queens. It seems every chance he gets, he has a little something to say about our chances, then rattles off the usual suspects that are also "in the running."He does have very strong words about St.Louis being next in line for expansion. The only bad news was he said they are in "no rush" in getting a team here.
